Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1:

Welcome to Lisbon

Upon arrival in Lisbon, you will meet your driver and head to your boutique hotel in Lisbon. The rest of the day is yours to start exploring this historic and cosmopolitan city.

Day 2:

Free Day

Spend your day exploring Lisbon on your own. Explore the bustling, hip neighborhoods of Bairro Alto and the Chiado, or stroll down Avenida Liberdade - one of the best high-end shopping areas in Europe. For phenomenal views, visit Castelo de São Jorge, the top of the Santa Justa Lift, or the Convento do Carmo. Or head down to the waterfront to the Praça do Comércio, a magnificent plaza that is one of the highlights of the city. While there, go up to the top of the Rua Augusta Arch for views of the water and the city.

Day 3:

Sintra and Cascais

Escape the hustle and bustle of Lisbon on a full-day tour of Sintra and Cascais. These two villages are within easy access of the city center and located in an area of protected natural beauty. Following a pick-up from your hotel, drive to Sintra Hills, home to fairytale palaces and castles. Look inside Pena Palace, considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. Enjoy a pleasant walk in the grounds and admire views of Lisbon on the horizon from its balconies. Next, explore the picture-postcard village of Sintra, stopping to taste the local pastries and shop for souvenirs. Continue to Cabo da Roca to stand at the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Next, travel along the coastal road where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Tagus River. En route, stop at the fishing village of Cascais, transformed into a home for kings-in-exile and also a site of espionage during World War II. Return to Lisbon along the magnificent Avenida Marginal, enjoying views of the Estoril Coast along the way.

Day 4:

Welcome to Porto

Take the train from Lisbon to Porto. Upon arrival, head to your boutique hotel in Porto. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy however you choose.

Day 5:

Douro Tour

Depart from Porto by van and head out into the Douro River Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to stops in Peso da Régua, Pinhão, and typical villages, you will also visit two renowned wineries for tastings and to learn about the different stages of wine production. In Pinhão, one of the most beautiful and traditional villages in the region, you will enjoy a traditional lunch and taste the wonderful flavors of the Douro’s regional gastronomy. Later, you will enjoy a magnificent boat ride down the river and a tasting of olive oils and other products of the Douro region.

Day 6:

Porto City Tour

Embark on a half-day tour of Porto. From Ribeira (old town) to Foz (river mouth), passing by the most important monuments and places, you will learn about the history and culture of this town, its traditions and emotions. During the tour, you will also visit the Port wine cellars for a tasting and to learn more about the history of Port wine, its production and storage.

Day 7:

Until Next Time

After breakfast, use the last of your time in Porto to shop for souvenirs or simply relax at a café before your transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
