Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1:

Welcome to the Green Island

Upon your arrival at Ponta Delgada International Airport, you’ll be met by a driver and brought to your spa hotel located in the village of Furnas. The rest of the day is yours to explore the quaint streets in town or head into the gardens and take a dip - you have unlimited access to the geothermal hot springs of Terra Nostra Park! Tonight's dinner is hosted at the hotel so that you can truly relax and not worry about anything.

Day 2:

Terra Nostra Park and Hot Springs

Spend your day leisurely visiting the lush, award-winning botanical gardens of Terra Nostra Park. Stop and admire one of the most popular exhibits, the Camellia Collection, which contains more than 800 different species and cultivars of camellias. Afterwards, take a dip in the geothermal hot springs before relaxing on the hotel's outdoor patio. In the evening, enjoy another dinner at the hotel restaurant or walk to one of the half-dozen nearby restaurants for some authentic Azorean cuisine.

Day 3:

Private Tour of Sao Miguel

Your day begins with a stop at the island's pineapple plantation to see how the island's delicious fruit is grown. Afterwards, you will stop along some of the most scenic lookout points on the western end of the island, including Vista do Rei where you’ll see the iconic blue and green lakes of Sete Cidades. Take a short walk along the crater's edge at Sete Cidades before a visit to the oldest tea factory in Europe and returning to your hotel.

Day 4:

Until Next Time

After breakfast, you’ll have some time to shop for souvenirs or simply relax with the locals before your transfer back to the airport for your flight home.

We had a wonderful trip. Both islands were beautiful. The Hungry Whales foodie tour was interesting, fun, and challenged us to try some foods that we probably would not have tried. The guides for this tour were great! All our guides were great - they knew so much and were fun to spend a day with. We did a whale watching tour on Terceira -- didn't see any whales but did see a lot of dolphins close up.
