Why we like it: A name like that will dissuade some travelers, but Peter's is a symbol of the island. Once a favorite of all mariners passing through, it's now the place to go to truly "know" the island. Try their popular 'Gin do Mar' cocktail and check out their daily specials.
Restaurant Atletico

Hours: Daily 12:00-3:00pm, 7:00pm- 11:00pm
Why we like it: Many locals consider it the best restaurant on the island. This restaurant is all about fresh food and the grill. They have a great selection of 'daily catch' seafood and high-quality meats. They also have a charming outdoor patio space.
Restaurante Genuino
Address: Areinha Velha 9, Horta
Hours: Daily, 12:00pm - 11:00pm
Why we like it: This restaurant was opened by a famous Azorean sea navigator who sailed around the world. Each table is dedicated to one of his favorite stops and has various memorabilia. Be sure to make a reservation to sit on the second floor for the best view!
Ah! Boca Santa

Hours: Tues - Saturday, 11:30 am - 2:30pm and 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Why we like it: Located inside the Municipal Marketplace, this take-out stand serves the best burgers on the island. A burger made with your choice of beef or pork, including locally made cheese, and served on the freshly made Azorean bolos levedos bread, you will not be disappointed!
Cantinho das Provas

Hours: 6:30-9:30pm
Why we like it: A wine bar specializing in Azorean wines and pairings. The menu changes weekly to take advantage of the freshest ingredients. Lunch is available some days starting at 12pm, and they even offer packed picnics upon request.
