6 Day - Azores Adventure Seeker
Upon your arrival at Ponta Delgada International Airport you’ll be met by a private driver and brought to your city center hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the cobblestone streets of the Azores’ largest city. Today you can choose to relax on the areas volcanic black sand beaches or visit the baroque lava stone church of Senhor Santo Cristo
Today you’ll be picked up and brought to Riberia dos Caleiroes where your tour director will distribute repelling equipment. After a short 20-minute walk the adventure begins. Along the journey you’ll encounter vertical challenges where it will be necessary to repel down the waterfalls and then eventually slide down into a refreshing natural spring water pool.
Today’s activity will leave you with a sense of calm and tranquility. Taking in the beautiful country landscape as you canoe Furnas Lake. On the banks of the lake you’ll notice hot springs and natural volcanic ovens where the locals are cooking your lunch, the traditional Cozido. Before heading to the award winning Terra Nostra Botanical Garden, you’ll stop to enjoy lunch that was cooked in the earth! The guide at Terra Nostra will encourage you to relax in the natural thermal pools before returning to Ponta Delgada.
Today you’ll discover the western part of the Sao Miguel. Exploring the volcanic system of Sete Cidades and thermal springs of Ferraria. After a transfer from city center the day begins with an easy bike ride in Sete Cidades, a landscape dominated by the blue and green lakes, considered to be one of the 7 natural wonders of Portugal. After a picnic lunch, you’ll stop in Ferraria, a unique costal geological formation. In the Spa area of Termas da Ferraria, we will have the opportunity to experience different types of thermal baths, including sauna, turkish bath, an indoor pool and jacuzzi, an experience that promotes relaxation and well being. After this relaxing experience will have time for a swim in the outdoor pool or, even, a dip in the sea. The scenic coastal southwest road of São Miguel makes the return to Ponta Delgada.
